ROAM is a travel magazine that incorporates a lot of negative space throughout the design. The goal of the minimal cover is to attract the readers to see and be intrigued by the city cover image first. The layout of the inside pages is also follows the minimal principle of the cover page. The articles callouts are at the bottom of the cover so there won’t be any tension between the magazine name and the articles. White space is used to give breathing space between the different elements on the page. The layouts for the mobile and iPad follows the same minimalist principle with different arrangement of the content to create a consistent experience.
Challenge: Being able to rearrange the content to give the same reading experience on 3 different platforms.
